Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘english: thuốc lợi tiểu’, ‘haiti: sẹo’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 71 hoạt chất thuộc về 12 nhóm gồm benzene and substituted derivatives, benzopyrans, carboxylic acids and derivatives, fatty acyls, flavonoids, hydroxy acids and derivatives, organic phosphoric acids and derivatives, organooxygen compounds, oxepanes, phenols, prenol lipids, steroids and steroid derivatives.
