Loài Dracaena cinnabari thuộc họ Asparagaceae phân bố tại một số vùng trên thế giới như nan, United States of America, Tanzania, United Republic of, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, New Zealand, Yemen, Oman, Belgium. Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘egypt: sẹo, chất làm se’, ‘elsewhere: chất làm se’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 75 hoạt chất thuộc về 7 nhóm gồm benzene and substituted derivatives, diarylheptanoids, flavonoids, homoisoflavonoids, linear 1,3-diarylpropanoids, prenol lipids, steroids and steroid derivatives.
