Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘egypt: họ sẽ mở, đổ mồ hôi, emmenagogue, thuốc lợi tiểu’, ‘france: thuốc lợi tiểu’, ‘mediterranean: họ sẽ mở, đổ mồ hôi’, ‘turkey: giờ mở cửa, thuốc lợi tiểu, thuốc nhuận tràng, có mùi hôi, họ sẽ mở, emmenagogue’, ‘ain: giờ mở cửa’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 83 hoạt chất thuộc về 6 nhóm gồm anthracenes, benzofurans, fatty acyls, flavonoids, prenol lipids, steroids and steroid derivatives.
