Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘elsewhere: thuốc lợi tiểu, đổ mồ hôi, thuốc lợi tiểu, thuốc hạ sốt’, ‘france: thuốc nhuận tràng’, ‘haiti: thuốc lợi tiểu, có mùi hôi, thuốc lợi tiểu’, ‘mexico: thuốc lợi tiểu, chất làm mềm, có mùi hôi’, ‘turkey: thuốc lợi tiểu, chất làm mềm, thuốc nhuận tràng, lo lắng, có mùi hôi’, ‘ain: có mùi hôi’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 26 hoạt chất thuộc về 10 nhóm gồm , benzene and substituted derivatives, benzodioxoles, cinnamic acids and derivatives, fatty acyls, flavonoids, furanoid lignans, organooxygen compounds, phenols, prenol lipids.
