Loài Sedum acre thuộc họ Crassulaceae phân bố tại một số vùng trên thế giới như Germany, France, Switzerland, Czechia, Chile, Netherlands, Finland, Hungary, Spain, Poland, Sweden, Russian Federation, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Ukraine, Slovakia, Latvia, United States of America, Algeria, Italy, Norway, New Zealand, Canada, Denmark, Austria, Ireland, Belgium. Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘eurasia: thuốc nhuận tràng’, ‘turkey: thuốc thanh lọc, thuốc lợi tiểu, gây nôn, rubefacient’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 70 hoạt chất thuộc về 5 nhóm gồm flavonoids, organonitrogen compounds, organooxygen compounds, piperidines, pyridines and derivatives.
