Loài Dipteryx odorata thuộc họ Fabaceae phân bố tại một số vùng trên thế giới như nan, Benin, Bolivia (Plurinational State of), French Guiana, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of), Colombia, Suriname, Brazil. Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘china: đổ mồ hôi, dạ dày’, ‘elsewhere: thuốc kháng đông, ma túy, chất kích thích, thuốc tống hơi’, ‘trinidad: thuốc tống hơi’, ‘turkey: thuốc xông khói, chất độc, thuốc trợ tim, ma túy’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 47 hoạt chất thuộc về 15 nhóm gồm ?, 2-arylbenzofuran flavonoids, aurone flavonoids, benzene and substituted derivatives, benzopyrans, cinnamic acids and derivatives, coumarins and derivatives, fatty acyls, flavonoids, furanoid lignans, isoflavonoids, linear 1,3-diarylpropanoids, naphthofurans, phenylpropanoic acids, prenol lipids.
