Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘dominican republic: thuốc thông mũi’, ‘elsewhere: thuốc tống hơi, đổ mồ hôi, emmenagogue, chất kích thích, dạ dày, thuốc bổ’, ‘haiti: tiêu hóa’, ‘iraq: họ sẽ ngạc nhiên’, ‘mexico: emmenagogue, thuốc an thần, chất kích thích’, ‘turkey: thuốc tống hơi, emmenagogue, lo lắng, thuốc nhuận tràng, dạ dày, họ sẽ ngạc nhiên, có mùi hôi, rubefacient, thuốc bổ, thuốc lợi tiểu, chất kích thích’, ‘ain: thuốc bổ’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 200 hoạt chất thuộc về 16 nhóm gồm 2-arylbenzofuran flavonoids, benzene and substituted derivatives, cinnamic acids and derivatives, dibenzylbutane lignans, fatty acyls, flavonoids, furanoid lignans, heteroaromatic compounds, organooxygen compounds, phenols, prenol lipids, saturated hydrocarbons, steroids and steroid derivatives, stilbenes, tetrapyrroles and derivatives, unsaturated hydrocarbons.
