Loài Zataria multiflora thuộc họ Lamiaceae phân bố tại một số vùng trên thế giới như nan, Tanzania, United Republic of, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran (Islamic Republic of), India, Korea, Republic of, Oman. Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘elsewhere: đổ mồ hôi, thuốc lợi tiểu, dạ dày, chất kích thích’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 40 hoạt chất thuộc về 9 nhóm gồm benzene and substituted derivatives, cinnamic acids and derivatives, fatty acyls, flavonoids, organooxygen compounds, prenol lipids, saturated hydrocarbons, steroids and steroid derivatives, unsaturated hydrocarbons.
