Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘french: thuốc tẩy giun’, ‘german: emmenagogue’, ‘italian: ma túy’, ‘us: thuốc bổ’, ‘anish: họ sẽ thảo luận’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 69 hoạt chất thuộc về 7 nhóm gồm aporphines, benzophenanthridine alkaloids, phenanthrenes and derivatives, phthalide isoquinolines, protoberberine alkaloids and derivatives, protopine alkaloids, stilbenes.
