Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘panama: giờ mở cửa, thuốc tống hơi, emmenagogue, thuốc lợi tiểu, cầm máu’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 72 hoạt chất thuộc về 9 nhóm gồm benzene and substituted derivatives, benzodioxoles, cinnamic acids and derivatives, fatty acyls, flavonoids, phenol ethers, prenol lipids, saturated hydrocarbons, unsaturated hydrocarbons.
