Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘haiti: thuốc lợi tiểu’, ‘turkey: thuốc lợi tiểu, có mùi hôi’, ‘ain: thuốc lợi tiểu’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 61 hoạt chất thuộc về 13 nhóm gồm benzene and substituted derivatives, benzoxazines, carboxylic acids and derivatives, diazanaphthalenes, fatty acyls, flavonoids, harmala alkaloids, indoles and derivatives, lactams, naphthalenes, prenol lipids, pyrrolidines, steroids and steroid derivatives.
