Loài Chaenomeles sinensis thuộc họ Rosaceae phân bố tại một số vùng trên thế giới như nan, United States of America, China, Estonia, Japan, Andorra, Korea, Republic of, Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of). Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘china: thuốc giảm đau, chất kích thích, thuốc long đờm’, ‘elsewhere: thuốc chống ho, thuốc lợi tiểu’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 92 hoạt chất thuộc về 10 nhóm gồm 2-arylbenzofuran flavonoids, benzene and substituted derivatives, flavonoids, hydroxy acids and derivatives, isoflavonoids, lignan glycosides, organooxygen compounds, phenols, prenol lipids, steroids and steroid derivatives.
