Loài Citrus grandis thuộc họ Rutaceae phân bố tại một số vùng trên thế giới như United States of America, Guinea, Chinese Taipei, Colombia, China, Malaysia, India, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Viet Nam. Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘china: chống rượu vang, thuốc tống hơi, dạ dày, mỹ phẩm, chất làm lạnh’, ‘dominican republic: giờ mở cửa, dạ dày’, ‘haiti: chất khử trùng, tiêu hóa, thuốc bổ’, ‘turkey: tiêu hóa, chất làm lạnh’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 222 hoạt chất thuộc về 18 nhóm gồm ?, benzene and substituted derivatives, benzodioxanes, benzopyrans, carboxylic acids and derivatives, coumarins and derivatives, fatty acyls, flavonoids, imidazopyrimidines, naphthalenes, organonitrogen compounds, organooxygen compounds, phenols, prenol lipids, quinolines and derivatives, saturated hydrocarbons, steroids and steroid derivatives, unsaturated hydrocarbons.
