Loài Toddalia asiatica thuộc họ Rutaceae phân bố tại một số vùng trên thế giới như Mauritius, Malawi, Tanzania, United Republic of, Chinese Taipei, Madagascar, Mozambique, Réunion, South Africa, India, Kenya, Japan, Bhutan, Indonesia. Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘elsewhere: diệt khuẩn, thuốc tống hơi, đổ mồ hôi, chất độc, chất kích thích, dạ dày’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 137 hoạt chất thuộc về 20 nhóm gồm amaryllidaceae alkaloids, aporphines, benzophenanthridine alkaloids, carboxylic acids and derivatives, cinnamic acids and derivatives, coumarins and derivatives, fatty acyls, flavonoids, furanoid lignans, naphthalenes, naphthopyrans, organonitrogen compounds, organooxygen compounds, phenol ethers, phenols, prenol lipids, protoberberine alkaloids and derivatives, quinolines and derivatives, steroids and steroid derivatives, tetralins.
