Dược liệu đã được sử dụng ở một số vùng lãnh thổ để điều trị một số chứng và bệnh tại như ‘w africa: ma túy’.Từ loài này đã phân lập và xác định được 69 hoạt chất thuộc về 15 nhóm gồm aporphines, benzene and substituted derivatives, benzodioxoles, benzophenanthridine alkaloids, cinnamic acids and derivatives, coumarins and derivatives, fatty acyls, flavonoids, furanoid lignans, isoquinolines and derivatives, organooxygen compounds, phenols, prenol lipids, quinolines and derivatives, steroids and steroid derivatives.
